The Pan African Religious Leaders Assembly (PARLA) unites religious and diaspora leaders from across the continent and around the world into a single, coordinated movement. We exist to help faith communities work together — sharing knowledge, resources, and leadership — so that Africa’s spiritual, social, and economic future is shaped from within.
A united and vibrant Africa, where religious leaders collaborate to promote peace, justice, reconciliation, and sustainable development, reflecting the dignity and worth of all people.
To mobilize, empower, and connect African religious and diaspora leaders to work together, share knowledge, and coordinate efforts to address the continent's challenges, while promoting interfaith dialogue, understanding, and cooperation.
PARLA brings African religious leaders together around a shared set of priorities:
Building collaboration and mutual understanding among religious leaders and their communities.
Supporting efforts to address conflict, inequality, and human rights abuses across Africa.
Partnering with religious leaders to advance economic empowerment and reduce poverty.
Helping leaders understand the needs and assets of their own communities to unlock new opportunities.
Providing training, resources, and networks that strengthen religious leadership across the continent.
Convening leaders to respond to climate change, pandemics, migration, and other pressing issues.
Encouraging dialogue with public officials to help shape policies that build a better future.
Equipping communities with the knowledge to budget, save, invest, and build lasting economic opportunity.
Embracing diversity and promoting unity among African religious leaders.
Demonstrating empathy and care for the most vulnerable and marginalized.
Upholding the highest standards of ethics, transparency, and accountability.
Valuing diverse religious traditions and cultural backgrounds.
Fostering partnerships and cooperation among religious leaders and other stakeholders.
